New Gold Standard

Kandy Nation is on a mission to change the way you look at Gold Jewellery.

After countless hours of research we have decided to invest in a product that is turning the jewellery world upside down. Kandy Nation wanted to stand behind a product that matters and brings positive change to people’s lives. Sadly, more and more people discover they have some sort of allergy to foods or chemicals, or their skin is very sensitive to chemical combinations of items they come to contact with. A lot of these allergies and sensitivities are developed or discovered through the jewellery they choose to wear.

It’s not the Gold that’s the problem

Do you know someone who developed an allergic reaction to a gold or silver jewellery? Without consulting with a specialist they most likely assumed that they have an allergy to gold or silver itself. Although it can be the case in some rare cases, it is not Gold nor Silver that is the culprit of that itchy red rash or black marks on skin. So who is guilty? 99% chance it’s Nickel or Lead. What? Who? How? Well, if you did not know, both Gold & Silver are incredibly fragile metals on it’s own, thus to create that stunning piece of jewellery, that you will ask your husband to buy you for Christmas, they are often mixed with Nickel and/or other metals to make it tougher. Now you understand that the lower the purity of the gold alloy (the lower the karat of the jewelry), the bigger part of it is made up of non-gold metals, including nickel. So unless you have a diagnosed allergy to Gold, or silver for that matter, it is most likely Nickel, Copper or Brass that’s causing it.

New Sheriff in Town

The hottest trend in fashion jewellery, taking over by a storm is Gold Plating. Gold Plating is simply putting a thin layer of real (yes, Real) Gold on top of other metals. The quality of Gold is exactly the same as in solid Gold product, but the heart of it is different. Gold plating allows jewellery designers to make their wildest dreams come to life, because using a different base metal gives them freedom that pure gold does not allow. And what’s more important it allows their product be affordable to masses, all the while looking practically indistinguishable from solid gold pieces. Gold plated jewellery is increasing in popularity in jewellery departments with soon-to-be-married-couples desiring their wedding bands to be made from that exact material that will stand the test of time, at a fraction of a price. Stainless steel.

Not all that glitters is solid Gold

Gold plating is in use for quite many years, but only recently it has been discovered what is the best base to apply it on. After many trials and tribulations, that unfortunately caused some bad press to gold plating, jewellery makers finally have it figured out. The answer couldn’t be simpler – stainless steel. Stainless steel is a metal compound of iron, carbon, and chromium. It is used for making things from surgical tools, pans, to car parts. And jewellery! Stainless steel was originally used for freshly pierced earrings due to the extremely low rate of allergic reactions to it. And still, 316L surgical steel is the safest choice available as first contact jewellery, especially for children. It is harder to scratch, can withstand the sun, the sand, and the sea. What can make it even safer is the Gold plating on top, that helps to prevent allergic reactions. Everything for the Win! The only Achilles heel of stainless steel jewellery is its’ sensitivity to chlorine, so you simply need to remember to take it off before going into chlorine pool. Such a minor disadvantage to deal with, right?

Tarnish free God

Not convinced? Surgical steel jewellery is corrosion-free, tarnish-free, and scratch-free. It does not require as much maintenance as solid gold jewellery and is really easy to clean. It is lightweight and comfortable. It is substantially cheaper than Gold. Best of All, it binds gold extremely well in a Gold plating process – much better than Silver, actually. It is the most environmentally-friendly metal option in the jewelry world. In the production process, the amount of energy used and waste produced is dramatically less than in the production of other metals for jewelry, AND it is 100% recyclable. Stainless steel jewellery is a poor conductor of electricity – it conducts around up to 16v, while gold conducts up to 310v and silver is 429v (for those worrying about getting electric shocks from their ring or necklace). But the plating will wear off, you worry. Yes, it might. After daily wear (which by the way is not he way to go with pure Gold jewellery), the gold will eventually wear off. Luckily, because the base metal is such a high quality it will not deteriorate and can be easily and cheaply re-plated in most jewellery stores.

For the love of Gold

Kandy Nation gold plated jewellery chose to stand behind a product that is does not cause harm to Your precious health nor the environment. A product that is made from quality materials into a luxurious and durable product, costing fraction of a price of it’s pure gold equivalent. For the love of our customers.

Know some of the men’s fashion trends

When it comes to fashion, men folks are no way behind women. Fashion is for women’ is a common myth. Yes, because men are as fashionable as women are, if not more. Every year there are several ins and outs in fashion trends. Wonder what this year’s trend manual looks like? Apart from experimenting with clothes, they are also experimenting with their hair like going bald. Though many do it to mask a receding hairline, some does it keeps pace with changing trends. As per a survey conducted men with a clean shaved head look more authoritative and tough than those with hair. Men can view website that is concerned with men’s fashion and style. So, it’s time to go for that bold look. But before you chop off that hair, there are a few things too about the tools needed and also how to maintain that smooth look. Use clippers to shorten your hair: If you have hair which is more than a millimeter, then the first thing to do before shaving your head with a shaver is to trim it to a shorter length using a clipper or else it can block the shaver with those long hair. Using that clipper reduces the hair to a shorter length and then goes for that razor or shaver to get a clean shave.

Clothing makes the difference

Besides the hair grooming, clothing for men has to be right for being fashionable.

Go Neutral: Soothing and warm tones make you look sophisticated and urbane. Gone are the days when these shades were not regarded as colors but were known to neutralize other vibrant colors. Colors have now shifted to earthier tones. These colors are cool and comforting; perfect for summers, go with linen pants and shirts in these colors.

Vertical Stripes: Stripes are classics, much like checks. It is hard to remember a time when stripes weren’t in fashion. Available in different colors and sizes, stripes are known for their versatility; they work well for formal, casual, and leisure wear. Stripes fit in everywhere. This year, vertical stripes were all over the runway at the London Fashion Week for Men. Opt for vertical striped shirts for a formal look and wear vertical stripes shorts for a more casual look.

Printed T-shirts:  Printed t-shirts have always been popular among men. They are stylish and comfortable at the same time. Although there is nothing new about printed t-shirts, they are the most versatile item in your wardrobe.
